General questions

Is the ski pass included in the course price?
No, the ski pass is not included in the course price. Please make sure to purchase it in advance. For more information, please visit our dedicated page: "How to choose a ski pass".
Is insurance included with the lessons?
No, the esf does not provide insurance for students. For more information, please visit our dedicated page: "Take out insurance".

Snow & mountain

Is a ski pass required for snowshoe outings?
For some outings, access via chairlift is required. In such cases, an additional fee for the ski pass will apply.
What kind of shoes should I wear for snowshoe outings?
Hiking boots are the best option. Snow boots or après-ski boots are also suitable. However, snowboard boots (too rigid) and Moon Boots (too wide) are not recommended.
Do I need any specific equipment for the expert ski lesson?
To get the most out of this off-piste-focused lesson, please make sure to bring:
  • Wide skis for better stability.
  • A helmet (mandatory for your safety).
The esf will provide a safety pack, including an avalanche transceiver (DVA), shovel, and probe.

Group activities

What is included in the price?
The price includes only the service itself. Equipment, lift pass, lunch, and insurance are not included.
Is it possible to be picked up from our accommodation or to start the activities near our lodging?
Yes, it is possible to be picked up directly from your accommodation for :
  • Ski or snowboard lessons
  • Private lessons
  • Biathlon (endurance & shooting)

In addition to pick-up service from your residence, you can also choose to start the following activities near your lodging:
  • Snowshoe outings
  • Off-piste safety sessions
  • Mountain talks (optionally held directly at your accommodation).

Children

Does my child need a ski pass?
  • Ourson level: No ski pass is needed for the first day. Please plan a budget in case a pass purchase becomes necessary after the first session.
  • For Flocon to Compétition levels: Your child will ski directly on the resort slopes and will need a La Toussuire ski pass from day one. 
  • For the Team Rider course: A Sybelles ski pass is required.
Will my child earn a medal?
Of course! At the end of each week, your child will receive a medal representing their level.
How should I dress my child?
Choose a jacket with bib pants or a warm one-piece suit to ensure comfort and protection. Add mittens to keep hands warm, sunglasses to protect the eyes, and don’t forget sunscreen to prevent sunburn. Also, tuck some tissues into their pocket to handle any minor cold-related discomforts!
How should I equip my child for the Club Piou Piou ?
Properly fitting boots, skis, and a helmet! (No need for ski poles at Club Piou-Piou.)
What is the Top 8 ski lesson?

Will my child be able to pass the Flèche or the Chamois tests?
All students enrolled in the Competition course are registered for the Flèche and Chamois tests! The events take place on Thursdays and Fridays.
My child has never skied before. Can they enroll in snowboard lessons?
Yes, even without any skiing experience, your child can enroll in snowboard lessons. Skiing and snowboarding are completely different disciplines, each with its own techniques and balance points. A new adventure awaits them on their board!
